![]() Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Valerie Whatley, M.D. graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1997. After completing a Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the University of Louisville, she joined the faculty there in 2003 as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. She moved to Nashville in October 2007 to join Vanderbilt faculty as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Whatley is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Her primary interests involve sedation and improving pain control in children as well as the use of simulation for teaching students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Whatley enjoys playing golf, tennis, traveling and theater. However, most of her free time is spent with her husband Chuck and daughters Ella and Hannah. |
