Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Dr. White trained in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as Chief Resident and received The Peter Safar Research Award. After practicing rural emergency medicine with the National Health Service Corps. for four years, Dr. White entered academic emergency medicine. Dr. White is the associate medical director of the Vanderbilt Life-Flight helicopter service and is active in the Tennessee Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT). He is currently working on completing a masters program in Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt, and has interests in difficult airway management and EM applications for ultrasound. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in emergency medicine and in pediatric emergency medicine. He is a (really) slow marathoner and triathlete and will be attempting his first full ironman distance in November. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife Deb and their son Ryan, who is an officer in the US Coast Guard. None of his three dogs have faces (boxer, boston terrier and bulldog). |
