  1. The Program will abide by resident evaluation policies as outlined by ACGME Institutional Requirements and those in the House Staff Manual.
  2. Evaluations of ED rotations will occur through New Innovations for each rotation in the PGY-1 year and every other rotation in the PGY-2 and PGY-3 years. There will be multiple evaluations from EM faculty who have worked with the resident.
  3. Off-service competency-based evaluations will occur at the end of each rotation.
  4. There will be semi-annual faculty group evaluations of each resident with written competency-based feedback.
  5. There will be semi-annual face-to-face evaluations with the Chairman and Program director.
  6. There will be on-line evaluations of residents by nurses in a real-time ongoing basis in the ED.
  7. There will be evaluations of residents by patients in a real-time on-going fashion in the ED.
  8. There will be yearly self-evaluations by each resident.
  9. There will be yearly focused peer evaluations by the residents.
  10. Each resident will take the annual In-Service Training Examination and there will be a face-to-face meeting with the Program Director to discuss test performance.
  11. There will be yearly Observed Patient Encounters by selected faculty with direct feedback on competency-based performance.
  12. There will be monthly Milestone Simulation Evaluations geared to resident level.
  13. These evaluation results will be available to the resident at all times through the Residency coordinator or through access to New Innovations.
  14. There will be a competency-based summative evaluation of each resident according to RRC guidelines.
All evaluations in the resident’s portfolio will be maintained by the Residency Coordinator in order
