Equipment is returned to the EMS equipment room at the ambulance entrance, after Environmental Services personnel perform a cursory cleaning. Due to the large amount of EMS equipment arriving at Vanderbilt, Metro NFD comes three times per week to pick up their equipment from this location.

Additionally, an EMT hired by Vanderbilt moves other services' equipment to a larger equipment room located in the basement level of the Oxford House, across the street from the ED. This also occurs three times per week.

EMS personnel are encouraged to retrieve equipment from the Oxford House room each time they come to Vanderbilt. Clearly marked/labeled equipment not retrieved is ultimately distributed to one of four regional pickup sites. Equipment not marked/labeled is left in the room until it is claimed, or desired by some service.

If you believe something is missing or otherwise, please let the charge nurse on duty know - their desk is to the left of the ambulance entrance, near the trauma bays.
