Program InformationOur goal is to train outstanding physicians with a solid foundation in clinical care, teaching, and research. We expect our fellows to become leaders in the expanding global academic emergency medicine community. We approach this mission with enthusiasm, and we invite you to join us! The clinical and research curriculum are tailored to individual needs and goals of fellows, within the guidelines established by the ACGME. The clinical rotations are performed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt University Hospital and the immediately adjacent Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Currently, we offer fellowship training programs for EMS, International Health, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Please click on the links to learn more about each program. International Health FellowshipThe Division of International Health offers a fellowship in international health for graduates of approved EM residency programs. Our first fellow started the program in July 2009 and is working on projects at Vanderbilt and in Guyana. Each fellowship will be designed based upon the interests and career goals of each individual fellow. Fellows typically pursue a MPH as part of their program and have options to complete a tropical medicine diploma course. All fellows have the opportunity to spend several months a year abroad working on a variety of projects. Fellows are expected to conduct a research project during their fellow year and present the results at a national or international meeting.
